No matter how much money is put into the development, a website is only successful if people can find it. Ten years ago it was fairly easy to obtain large amounts of visitors. All you had to do was submit your site to the major search engines and the traffic would come. Today the complexity and number of options for marketing a website can be confusing. If website marketing is gone about improperly, a business can end up wasting a large amount of money for little benefit. A good Internet marketing company will be able to choose the best options and tailor a plan to fit each individual client.
Search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft Live are still one of the main focuses of any good website marketing effort. There are three main parts to a successful search engine marketing effort. These include key phrase selection, proper page optimization, and the building of back links.
Key phrase selection is the most difficult of the three. A “key phrase” is usually a set of two or three words that someone would search to find a given web page. It is impossible for a new web site to come up within the first few pages of results for a single word search. A good marketing company will tell you what the best key phrases for a given page are. Libertytec has access to a database of every internet search from Google, Microsoft Live, and Yahoo. They are responsible for over 90 percent of all Internet traffic. We mine this data to find the key phrases that have the least competition and generate the most traffic for a given page.
Once proper key words and phrases are chosen, we optimize each page to make sure it is built correctly. This consists of using the proper standardized programming code and including the chosen key phrases at certain intervals in the text of a page. After this, we create a site map and submit it to the search engines.
In addition to key phrases, search engines base their results on the number and quality of web sites linking to it. These are called “back links.” Back links are usually created by trading or purchasing links on other sites. Libertytec researches appropriate sites and makes recommendations in all our marketing plans.
There are also a number of other great options for advertising opportunities apart from search engine marketing. A banner advertisement on the right site can drive targeted traffic, so can email newsletters and blogs. Pay per click advertising can let you bid a certain amount for each visitor to your site. If your company is targeting the youth market, a Facebook or Myspace page may just be the thing to spread the word about your products or services.
